(Dec. 2009) In the light of recent changes in the law related to nature tourism activities, Birds & Nature has presented to the ICNB a project of nature conservation and biodiversity, involving monitoring aquatic birds along the shore of the Sado estuary. This project was presented at the Observanatura Fair last October and the field work consists of monthly bird-counts at a variety of high tide roosts in the estuary, to be carried out by a team of volunteers, clients of Birds & Nature. After two preliminary workshops in November and December, the counts will begin in January 2010 (weekend of 30 / 31 st). Already we have more than 20 volunteers, but any person interested can participate!
