It is possible to combine field tours, perhaps running over several days (for example, one day in the Tagus estuary area, followed by a day in the Alentejo area, followed by another day in the Algarve area).
For these longer tours, Birds & Nature has links with a number of hotels and pensions situated within easy reach of the major birding sites and can, therefore, recommend and arrange accommodation. Birds & Nature is also organized to act as agent for visiting and touring groups and can recommend and arrange suitable itineraries, transport and accommodation to meet their particular requirements; for instance, if you want to spend a few days birding, please check our short-breaks and week-long programmes; Lisbon International Airport is served by numerous airlines and, as already mentioned, lies only 20 minutes from one of the finest birdwatching sites in Europe! Also, within 90 minutes, it is possible to visit other excellent complementary biotopes, for example, the rolling plains and dramatic gorges, hills and bluffs associated with river valleys of the Alentejo.

Basically the selection of field trips included in the Birds & Nature menu is designed to bring you to the best birding locations in Portugal. Some bird species are so site specific, however, that you might like to consider a tailor-made field tour to other sites (for example, International Douro, Portas de Ródão, International Tagus, Santo André lagoon, Mourão, Moura and Barrancos area, Óbidos lagoon), or even to places outside Portugal, like Doñana or Monfrague Parks, in Spain.
